Life Writing in Europe
Founding Conference IABA Europe
VU University Amsterdam
The Netherlands October 29–31, 2009

The International Auto/Biography Association (IABA) was founded in 1999 as a multidisciplinary network that aims to broaden the world vision of auto/biographers, scholars and readers, to deepen the cross-cultural understanding of self, identity and experience, and to carry on global dialogues on life writing. The founding conference of IABA Europe hopes to foster the European participation in this international debate and to stimulate a European network of life writing scholars.

The founding conference of IABA Europe is organised with the assistance of the research institute ‘Culture and Values’ of the VU University Amsterdam. A selection of the papers will be published.

We hope to welcome you to Amsterdam!
